Voyager of the Seas

Any suggestions on a good cabin on Voyager of the Seas or sister ships? I'm looking at a balcony cabin near the aft on deck 10, or a cabin on the bow on deck 6. Is there a preferred deck to be on? Also, any suggestions on a hotel in Galveston, TX where the ship leaves? Thank you!

I am going on the Voyager next week in the Mediterranean. We have a balcony on the 7th deck. I'll check out the other decks and see if higher is better.
Galveston has some great hotels on the seawall and not too far from the port by taxi. I would try the San Luis Hotel (historic) or Flagship (out over the water).

I had an inside on deck 10 at the very aft and was very happy. It is just a short staircase to decks 11, 12 where the pools, buffet and most activities are. If you book deck 6, you'd have to wait for elevators no matter where you go, except for casino, and sometimes it is a long wait.

On Voyager, the cabins I like best are the balcony ones on the "hump" in the middle of the ship. They are right next to the elevators (but separated by a wall, so no elevator noise), and from your balcony you can see both forward and back on the ship, because the balconies bow out. This also puts you right at the elevators that go directly to the dining rm. and lido deck, places you probably will be going every day, if not several times a day. And those elevators are close to the guest relations desk also. We prefer deck 9, a short flight on the stairs to the activities above.

I prefer the cabins directly on the stern of the ship. Deeper balconies and awesome views. Avoid the deck directly under the pool.

If you are not firmly decided on a balcony cabin, try the promenade cabins. But choose the highest deck, otherwise people can see in your room. These are the best cabins, they have a little sitting bench in a bay window where you can sit and watch people shopping below. Very cool!!
