If I remember corretly - the Sunbird used to be RCCL's Song of America ship. No personal experience but a friend was on it a couple of years ago when RCCL had it and loved it - it was her first cruise.

My husband and I were on this ship when it was the Song of America and as it is now the Sunbird. We enjoyed the ship both times. It is easy to get around and to meet people.
The very big difference is with the service on the ship. There are many inexperienced staff members, and this includes the kitchen staff. Food was not bad. There were a couple of nights we skipped dinner in the dining room because there was nothing on the menu that interested us. There is very limited room service for a charge. The outside cafe was very predictable.
During our two week Med. cruise, we enjoyed one week of great entertainment in the lounge. The second week, entertainers from Great Britain came aboard and did local jokes which we did not understand.
For first time cruisers, with few expectations and not a lot of money to spend this is a great way to see Europe. For those of us who have travelled extensively, we realize that there are many corners cut and everything extra will cost you GREATLY.
I will say one very positive thing. For someone who suffers from high waves, this ship was extremely smooth.
I enjoyed the ship a lot more when it belong to RCCL.

Gr
