snorkeling question

We are cruising to Mexico in March. What do women usually wear to and from the snorkeling excursions? Any tips?

Most women will wear their bathing suit under a pair of shorts and a t-shirt (or wear some other appropriate "beach" cover-up) while travelling to/from the excursion's place of departure. Once on the excursion everyone will be in their bathing suits. Leave valuables in your room safe and take only the bare essentials - sunblock, a small amount of cash and perhaps a credit card. Carry the latter two items in a small zip-lock bag that you can put in your pocket or purchase a small waterproof pouch that you can where around your neck while snorkeling (they are inexpensive and are available at your local dive shop).

I am fair and even with sunscreen get too much sun on my shoulders in the water. Take along and extra t-shirt to snorkel in...preferably one that is large that you can knot at the waist

Less is better - take only a cover up and lotion - To avoid the notorious snorkel butt burn put the sunscreen on early and often - that is the part of your body exposed to the sun constantly. All suggestions above are great. You may also want to but some non drowsy dramamine - we learned many years ago that sooner or later everyone gets sea sick so why take the chance. Enjoy - I love snorkeling- have fun
