We're doing a repositioning cruise aboard the Navigator of the Seas in Oct/Nov. We board the Navigator in Pisa/Lucca. We will visit Barcelona Spain, Cartagena Spain, Malaga Spain, Provence (Toulon) France, and Tenerife canary Islands before heading for home. There are tons of excursions being offered. BUT are there must sees in these areas, and things we can do and enjoy without doing all these excursions? What would be the best ones to do? Or should we just do them on our own? HELP!

Have been to several of these ports...Malaga..without a doubt share a taxi and go up to Mijas, a little charming tourist village in the mountains or the must see if you can do all the walking is The Alhambra..Barcelona is a magnificent city...we do have a driver there and you can see more of the city in one day than most people see in a week..at least an overview so when you go back you will know where you want to return like the famous market or see the Gaudi influence or La Rambla..Can't make any recommendations for the Canary Islands depends on what is of interest and we've never been to Provence..Cartagena, Spain..downtown is interesting.. and as for Pisa.. try to go to Cinque Terra..the five villages with a driver/guide and you can stop on the way back to the ship to see Pisa.
We found Barcelona very easy to tour on our own. We especially likied the Gaudi sites: Parc Guell, La Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, Casa Battlo.
