Shore excursions on Legend of the Seas

We are going on the Legend of the Seas October 10th to 22nd on their "Best of Mediterranean" and would like some suggestions for the best shore excursions to take. We are starting in Barcelona and stopping in Villa Franche, Florence, Pisa, Naples, Venice, Messina, Rome and then back to Marseilles. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We are staying in a F category room. Anyone with any info on this category? Thanks in advance

We were in a category F cabin on our first trip from Sydney to Singapore on the Legend, we have spent 33 days on her in the last two years. Category F cabins are small (somewhere in the range of 150 sq. ft.), so take all of the little things that can help you with staying orgainized, and it will be plenty comfy. They have all of the comforts of home though, from a small loveseat and table with a nice window for viewing the ocean, twin/queen bed with two night stands, to plenty of closet and drawer space to a small television that extends out for easy viewing and safe. Category F cabins do not have a mini firg and only supply robes if you are a frequent past passengers with several cruises on RCI. The organization needs to be for the bathroom, very compact with a small shower only! RCI provides soap, conditioner and shampoo. You might think of taking some kind of space saving item, such as a plastic shoe holder that can hang on your bathroom door, it will come in very handy to store all of your bathroom items because there isn't much room in there.
Loved the ship, very nice crew and public areas.
We repeated the exact same cruise in 2001 except this time in a category B suite and found that there is something to having a larger cabin with more space to move around, especially with all of the sea days that we had on our itineray.
We were very happy to report that the food had improved from 2000 to 2001, much better in every aspect, including dinners in the Windjammer Cafe on those nights where you just don't feel like going to the dining room.
If I can answer any other questions, please feel free to email the above address.
Sorry, have only taken her through Austalia, so I have no info on excursions in the Mediterranean.

We are also going on that cruise and in the same category F. I'm very nervous about booking shore excursion reading all that I've read about the "herding". At the same time, I'm apprehensive about going it alone. Am anxiously awaiting some responses. The ship sails soon!

Do the shore excursions yourself and save a ton of money. I've taken too much flack on this board to detail the ports, so if you want my experiences, just email me and I'll be happy to oblige.

What a woos! If you've got something to offer, post it; if you don't, get off the board!
