Seabourn vs Regent
How would you compare Seabourn to Regent (Radisson)? We have a family of 6 adults (20's, 30's and 60's)planning a Greek isle/eastern med. cruise next fall. We do NOT need casinos or cheesy lounge acts or singing waiters, but we do want elegant surroundings and great food.

One big difference is the lack of true balconies on the Seabourn triplets. French balconies are available in some categories.
I love Regent for the large and wonderful cabins, and for the good variety of options offered on these perfect sized ships. When I considered Seabourn, I was concerned about the balcony situation and the limited fitness and dining options, both of which are important to me.
Recent posts on cruise critic have commented on the lack of maintenance on some of the Seabourn vessels but I cannot say as I have not been aboard.

I am aware of the "balcony" situation and that is a concern. I also wondered if the relative size of the two ships will make a difference if one tends to feel the motion more on Seabourn vs Regent?

I can tell you that I have cruised on the Radisson Diamond which is about the size of the Seabourn Fleet and the answer is yes.
The Mariner/Voyager sized ships provided a more comfy ride, especially in rougher seas.

Both cruise lines are excellent with similar food options & elegant surroundings. Seabourn with 200+ persons is more intimate & Regent with 700+ persons has more ambiance. I personally prefer Regent for mainly 2 reasons, the balconies & we like more mid size to large cruise ships. What's more romantic than dinner for 2 in your private balcony? I took Seabourn 6 years ago from Venice to Istanbul & Regent 2 years ago for New Years from Costa Rica to Los Angeles. New for 2007 Regent's new policy will include all liquors. IMO is a matter of personal preferences, maybe the itinerary and/ or prices will make the decision easier. Last fall we did Egypt & the Greek Islands with Mykonos being our favorite island. Do not miss the "sunset" in Mykonos, it's really breathtaking. This fall will take Regent's Mariner to Asia. Whatever you decide have a great cruise.
