Scandinavia and St. Petersburg
We are interested with my wife in this cruise:
http://www.icruise.com/12-night-scan...5-16-2015.html
but we need to know how much it will cost to us all the land tours especially St. Petersburg. Can someone be kind enough to guide us.I am 72 years old and my wife 64.
Thank you very much from now.

Some cities Copenhagen, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm) are easy to tour on your own, and will only cost admissions to any museums you choose and whatever public transportation you use.
I don't remember the price, but we used Red October for a private tour in St Petersburg. You could contact them for a quote.
Have you looked on Celebrity's website for the cost of their shore excursions?

In 2007 we did the 2 day Princess excursion for SPB and then it was about $340.00 pp.
Abram is correct. Most of the others you can do on your own. However for SPB you some sort of pre arranged tour to avoid Russsian visa hassles.
A company called Denrus was about the same as the Princess tour and had fewer people but our friends didn't want to go that route so we did the ships tour.

DesRus gets great reviews on Trip Advisor and it's amazing but their two day tour of SBP is less now than 8 yrs. ago. Maybe something to do with the strength of the USD and decline of the ruble.
In any case it's a very good deal.

We were on last summer's Celebrity Baltic Cruise. For St. Petersburg and Berlin we used ALLA Tours. They were great and very easy to deal with.
All the tour groups, ALLA, SPB, Denruss, Red October get excellent reviews on trip advisor so I don't think you can go wrong. We found Alla to be easy to contact and they answered all our questions. Contact the companies to find out what their prices are.
You will find the private companies are substantially less expensive than the tours done through the ship.
As for the other cities, they were all easy to do without a tour. Tallinn is very compact and easy to get around. Copenhagen and Helsinki are also easy to get around.
Enjoy your cruise; it is an extremely interesting and beautiful trip.
Make sure you spend a lot of time watching the Swedish archipelago as you approach and leave Stockholm.

We are on the Celebrity Silhouette Stockholm-Amsterdam May 28 sailing and I've set up a 2 day deluxe tour of St Petersburg with SPB Tours, price $285pp, including lunch on both days, This is their most active tour, they have a couple of others which skip some of the sites and are at a more leisurely pace. Vika has been an absolute pleasure to work with, we're doing Berlin with her, have also booked transport through her for our evening visit to the Marinsky ballet.
As giro says all of the top tour operators for Russia get consistently good reviews. I believe Denrus has recently changed hands and they've gotten rid of many of the old staff, they never got back when I emailed them for a quote, maybe this was the reason? But I do know someone from our Roll Call who is using them, so maybe they've sorted out the problems.

We used Alla Tour while we were in St. Pete in 2012. They were excellent and I highly recommended them. Percy also used them on an earlier trip. They don't ask for payment in advance and they don't even collect money on the first day. Alla Ushakova (the owner) personally met us on day 2 at the gift shop and collect the money. If you are not happy, you don't show up on day 2, you don't pay. We paid $300 US per person for the 2 days back then.

Here is the link to our Baltic cruise Trip report here at Fodors. There are a few identical ports between our cruise and yours. You might find our trial and tribulation there.

Alla Tours used to offer same tour and group people with various "ability" together. As an example, those who can run around and those who have to go at a slower pace. They used to call them "strenuous tour" and "regular tour" with the strenuous tour seeing a couple more places as you have to rush and if you walk very slow, then it won't work.
If you have 4 or 5 people, book a private tour, customize and go to places where you wanted to go and not just the run of the mill tourist packed places. There are places that the tour operators took you to that is not too interesting and some of the second tier, out of the way places are probably more interesting.

We used ALLA tours last summer in SPB....absolutely no complaints. Elaina, our guide is a university English professor. She was fun, smart and very responsive to our needs. They met us easily after going through Immigration....great van and wonderful itinerary. They are well reviewed on Trip Advisor.
