Hi everyone~
I am thinking about planning a cruise as a surprise for my husband's 30th birthday in Summer 2003. I have never been on a cruise, and I have some questions. We will be in Europe at that time, so I am considering either a Mediterranean, Greek Islands, or Baltic itinerary. I would like to choose the cruise before reserving our FF mile tickets for the trip so that we know where we should fly into/out of.

1) When do the schedules for summer 2003 come out?

2) Is it better (price-wise) to book a year in advance or sometime closer to the departure date?

3) Can anyone give me some comparisons of the itineraries above? Likes and dislikes? We are in our late 20's, enjoy sightseeing, history, good food and wine. We have been to Italy, Switzerland, France, and Germany (and LOVED all of them!)

4) Best place to book the cruise? Do internet cruise dealers generally have the best prices?

I have visited 3 travel agents in our area, and none of them have been on a European cruise, so they couldn't give me 1st hand information.

I have a friend who went on Orient Lines twice and loved it, so that was my first thought.
