we would like to make early reservations for one of the specialty restaurants on the Regent Ship Mariner. Any recommendations? We are leaving in May for cruise down Adriatic on to the Med. Has anyone used their spa?

I would strongly recommend you make reservations for both Signatures and Prime 7. We especially liked the French touch in Signatures, but both restaurants are excellent and a step above the other dining options. You are allowed to make one reservation at each, and if they have openings, you can even go more than once. The first night is often available for this extra night. Grab it if you can. I used the spa for a pedicure to use up my shipboard credit. It was great, but it is not cheap.
If you haven't already done so, go to the R7S website and set up your account profile. You can than make your Specialty Restaurant reservations there - you can make one reservation for both Prime 7 and Signatures. FYI - for most cruises there is a fixed date when you may begin to make dinner reservations which you'll find on the website. We are doing a cruise with them in early June and can make our dinner reservations starting in early February so for a May cruise that date will probably be sometime in late January or early February - you'll have to check with R7S for exact date at it varies by cruise.
As the previous poster said, you might be able to get a "second" reservation at either or both restaurants (if available) but you can't do that "on-line" - you'll have to wait until you are on board. On our last cruise with R7S we dined twice in each place.
Food in both places is excellent so don't miss either one. By the was we found the meals in Compass rose (their "main restaurant - no reservations necessary) to be quite good also.
My spouse had several spa treatments on board and gave them high marks.
By the way, once you set up your account profile you can also book all your tours for the cruise on the website.
OPPS! I had a typo - we can start making our restaurant reservation for our June cruise in early March not early February - so for a May cruise I still think the reservation start date will probably be in early February.
