Hello,
We are planning our honeymoon for Sept 01.
We are thinking about a five day stay in Athens followed by a 7 day cruise on Royal Olympic ?stella solaris, triton, odysseus.
My questions are:
How is this cruise line and these older boats? Service, comfort, safety?
Can you see Crete and Santorini in 1 day?
Which are the essential Greek Islands to see?
Please note we are first time cruisers
Thanks for the help and comments.

This is a tough question Ken. Are you familiar with Greek hospitality?
Would you be comfortable in say staying in an old hotel without the ammenities and comfort of a modern US hotel?
If you wish elegance, you will not find it on these old ships. The entertainment is practicall nil. The activities ..... same.
My customers call them junk ships.
I have cruised the older Greek ships just for the experience but I would not call them comfortable.
I just returned from the Royal Olympic Voyager which is their newest ship and found it extremely comfortable with an excellent crew. The food was good. Lounge entertainment. Not much for daily activities.
The itinerary was the best. Very fast ship (do not book a cabin in the rear of the ship due to the vibration).
For first time cruisers I would send my clients either on an "American" ship or on the Voyager.

Ken- ROyal Olympic ships are old aand have more Europeans than Americans.
If I were to reccomend a line, I'd personally go with WIndstar cruises- they do Athens to Turkey and vice versa
and their food is fabulous, and it's a 5 masted sailing yacht which is ideal for a honeymoon.Go to their webdsite and look it up- they are having a 2 for 1 on the Turkey to Athens cruise--so look into it. Happy honeymoon!
