Hello,
I have been on two cruises before but both times I was not the organizing so I was hoping to get some information. I am looking to book my honeymoon trip for next September (2010) on a cruise in the Mediterranean. We're looking at RCL, Princess, and Celebrity. I know that they all most likely have different procedures, costs, etc but at this point I wanted to know that in order to secure your spots on board, can you simply put down a deposit (whatever the amount may be)? And then, are you given the option to not have to pay the total remaining costs until x amount of days before departure or are you required to pay a portion each month?
Thanks so much!
J

Deposit due at time of booking. Remainder due some time prior to cruise - nothing due inbetween. Make sure you check cancellation/refund policies.
If you are using a travel agent, on-line or not, make sure that when you go to website of cruiseline that any deposit you have made thru the agent is credited to your account on the cruise website - that is the only way you know the agency applied it to your cruise and not to some other purpose.
Deposits vary based on the length of the cruise for most 7 night cruises on these three lines it's $250 per person. Final payments on Princess are due 75 days prior to sailing (90 days for holiday sailings). On RCl & Celeb, final payments are due 70 days before sailing and 90 days prior for holiday sailings.
