QE2: Which side?

Is it better to have a north facing cabin or a south facing cabin from New YOrk to Southhampton? Any tips/hints are greatly appreciated.

RJames- would imagine it is not that important as you are basically sailing across Atlantic- ocean all the way. When leaving our port (I live in NY)am sure all will be on deck to see Statue of Liberty and . . . sadly where lots of my friends lost their husbands- empty space of lost Twin Towers. Are you touring with ship once it reaches Southampton? If so, which direction will ship go, then base your room selection on that! Am taking an Alaska cruise, northbound, starting in Vancouver. In my case, starboard is our preference as scenary on that side, along shore. Yes, scenary on port too but your are closer to it on starboard side. Port side will be best when ship does southbound itinery.

If you can afford it, my choice would be a cabin at the sharp end when you can see where you are heading, or at the blunt end where you can see where you have been. I think that they are the most expensive. They are on Radisson ships.

The POSH rule is only applicable for voyages from the UK to India, where this was the cooler side of the ship for the journey.
