Pride of America 7 night Hawaii- Is a balcony worth it to view the volcano?

Hi all,

We're in the midst of deciding what cabin to choose for January. I've been 'advised' that a balcony is recommended to view the volcano, lava etc. As it seems to be a port intensive cruise just wondering whether paying the extra money is worth it.
