Hi Sue,

Within the next couple of weeks they should receive a large envelope from Princess describing all the shore tours and prices. The booklet describes how much walking and climbing is involved. Not difficult to choose.

Paul

They can always stay on the ship if they prefer to milk being old and decrepit.

Sue,

I've been to Alaska many times and I'm your parents age. The shore excursions that I enjoyed are Juneau, a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier or Whale Watching or the Fish Hatchery, in Ketchikan, the Lumberjack show, in Skagway, I enjoyed just walking around but it's a bit of a walk to town and that's where the train ride is but I found it pretty boring.
Hope this helps them. Anymore info? you may e-mail me.
Lydia
Seems like quite a few ask others for tour advice here. I still say, everyone has their own lifestyle and if a tour is not explained in detail you will not know whether you will enjoy it or not. If you are going to Alaska, a TA that is an Alaskan expert will take the time to explain the detail. A fish hatchery tour may be great for some and extremely boring for others. Same with the train ride. Do you know the difference between the train ride up the canyon or a land tour? Do you know what each one offers?

Paul
