Overnight hotel in Ft. Lauderdale

I'm sailing with Princess from Ft. Lauderdale for the first time in December. I'm flying in the day before and will spend the night there. I want a hotel that is less than $200, has a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the pier. Would be nice to have an included breakfast as well. Not familiar with the area at all, so will appreciate your suggestions.

There are many, many posts on this very subject on Cruise Critic, specifically here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495
December is high season in South FL, so expect higher prices.

Don't know rates.

There are a ton of hotels around there, as the Airport and Seaport are adjacent.

Three worth looking at are the Comfort Suites on South Federal Highway, the Hyatt Place on 18th Ave. in Dania Beach, and the Embassy Suites on 17th St. Causeway

Thanks for your suggestion Vic's travels and the link. I've posted a similar request there. Hopefully I'll get some results.

Thanks to you too Senator Steve. I'm sure there are tons of hotels, but as I noted want one with shuttles. I'll have a look at what you've suggested and maybe find one with low enough rates.

You might find better at a low price using a hotel that has you pay for a shuttle to the cruise port.

We stayed around Dania Beach and Hollywood at the chain hotels near I-95. There are lots of them. I think the one I preferred overall at a reasonable rate was the La Quinta Inn and Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport.

They ran their airport shuttle later than some of the others, and it was on-demand (call when you arrive), and the company that they used for shuttle to the port is pretty good.

They also have a sitting area looking over a lake, which is nice, and aren't too far from a shopping center if you need to by something before hand. I actually was able to walk to the Home Depot nearby and get some bug spray for my travel companion.

Plenty of good hotels, some even walking distance! Okay maybe like 10 blocks, and $5 cab fare.

Pick a hotel with free shuttle from airport and to cruise port. Mid-range chains like Best Western would be about $125-$150 a night.

Depending if you are just staying for the night or you want more amenity at the hotel. Some hotel at the beach area nearby is around $225 and offer shuttle to the cruise port (but not a shuttle from the airport)
