Online check in for US citizen living in Europe

Jump to last reply

Hi! So I purchased a cruise through RCCL and to get the U.S. Rate which was better they used my US address where I am getting forwarded mail but for the past year I have been a resident over here in Europe where I am living. For the cruise info as mentioned for payment and getting registered for the cruise etc I gave them all the U.S. Info and they said not to worry about German address.
Now that I'm doing the online checkin it is asking for citizenship, country of birth, residence country and resident address. I'm wondering if I should keep it simple and keep the US address listed that I used with RCCL or if I should put German address. On the one hand I don't want to do something wrong and get in trouble while embarking or disbarking in Rome but on other hand if it doesn't make a difference and is potentially a hassle since the booking already lists my US address then I would rather do that. I randomly called RCCL twice to ask and both times they said put US address but I guess I'm wondering if they are just taking a guess but I would be the one with an issue at port.
Not sure what the online check in is for...if it's something just for RCCL or if it is something for immigration people.
Thoughts?
Wondering for those who have gone through the process of online check in and what it is like going through immigration. Maybe they don't even ask anything when they scan your passport. I do have a German residency card but also have a us address
