One way cruise to Europe from FL
Hello,
Does anyone know if it's possible with any cruise line to go on a one-way cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Sweden ? As well as a return ?
I would also be interested in one-way cruises between the Netherlands and Sweden , in either direction.
I have looked all over but mostly it's predetermined trips , not just one way.
Thanks

There are repositioning cruises to Europe in the spring, but I doubt they go to Sweden as the ships are being moved to do Mediterranean cruises. In the fall the ships return to the Caribbean, so you are probably out of luck for this year.
Baltic cruises should be easier to find, although maybe not out of the Netherlands. There are overnight ferries between Copenhagen and Oslo.
Have you spent time on cruisecritic.com?
What places do you want to visit?

Actually TransAtlantic cruises are usually one way. However, as Thursdaysd says, they go mostly to Europe and the Med in Spring and back to the US, South America and Caribbean in Fall for the winter.
There is one cruise going from Florida to Rome this October.
Cunard goes often from NY to England, even in winter.
Look at vacationstogo. Plug in your dates and requirements and you will see how it works. Even in Spring, I doubt any go to Sweden from Florida, but I did not look that far ahead. You can check that, but it would not be this Fall anyway.

The closest I've seen to what you are looking for is a transatlantic Ft Lauderdale to Southampton that continued on to the Baltic, which included a stop in Stockholm. A similar scenario was a cruise of Norway's fijords. Passengers continuing on stayed on the ship in Southampton, the turnaround was about 8-9 hours.
This was two separate cruises so would have been pricey. As the Baltic cruise was roundtrip to/from Southampton, you would be paying quite a premium to disembark in Stockholm.
Check Celebrity, Crystal and Cunard. We've done several crossings now in both directions; they are great fun and good value. In late October we sail Southampton to Miami with stops in Boston, NYC, Bermuda and the Bahamas, 15 nights.

In the autumn, the ships generally move from the Med to the Caribbean. So autumn re-positioning cruises are east to west. In the spring, it's the reverse.
The exception is Cunard which I believe does both eastbound and westbound crossings most of the year. Many are between New York and Southampton but you will see one or two arriving or departing from Florida ports.
Our Southampton, UK to Miami crossing/cruise is next month on Celebrity Eclipse. The Celebrity Reflection usually does re-positioning cruises between Rome and Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.
There are several others, I mention these because I have done them myself.
