Trip Report On Cloud9, Miss Carnival Breeze

Jump to last reply

This was our second cruise on “The Breeze” and it turned out to be another six days of FUN. Passing time as we wait to set sail and for the safety briefing, we head straight for the "Mandatory Buffet". Next we make fruitless attempts to start the cruise off right with lots of cash in the “Winners Luck Casino”. Yeah, Right!

Unlike before we opt for a “Spa Package Room” room and end up on a quiet section of Deck 12. Buying the package ahead of time turns out to be well worth the money as we enjoy our time in the therapeutic pool and steam rooms.

We have about two days to relax and delight in some Breeze FUN, from dance lessons on the LIDO deck to a fierce competition of Bean Bag tossing it is all enjoyable. We replenish ourselves with cold drinks and more than one helping of the world famous “Guys Burger” and of course, soft serve ice cream. Our more than normal share of formal dining is a great time with great friends and an exceptional head waiter, Damir.

Our first port of call, Falmouth, Jamaica has us wasting away at Margaritaville with Red Stripe then at a nearby “Jamaican Beef Patty” stand we have some of the best tasting patties we have ever had.

Back onboard it is time for more Cloud9 time before watching a warm sunset from a portable cabana in the Serenity adults only area. This evening we bypass the formal dinner but not the Red Frog Caribbean Party where it is always FUN to join a “Congo Line” then watch some talented fellow cruisers see how low they can go.

A painless tendering process and soon we are in a community taxi headed for the Marriott Hotel at 7 Mile Beach in Grand Cayman. Not long after finding our spot the warm and beautiful Cayman waters beckons us and we accept the invitation. An artificial reef lies right off shore and the fish around are plentiful. The water is so clear that snorkeling gear is almost not necessary although you might find that some of the fish might consider your legs as bait.

As we sail for our next port of call, we spend another evening enjoying the nightlife on the Breeze. A ton of laughs in The Punchliner then it is some moves on the disco dance floor before again trying to get rich in the “Winner's Luck Casino”.

A relaxing day supporting the Mexican economy in Cozumel and it is time for about two days of sailing back to Miami. This gives us the opportunity for some more Cloud9 time and a chance to catch a show in The Ovation Theater. The Bobby Borgia show is amazing. How did he get all of the men to think of a wrist watch and all of the women to think about a Christmas tree is almost unbelievable.

Tonight it is dinner for two at Bosni. Although there was a $17 charge for this, the sushi was amazing and definitely worth it. A magic show nearby was also amazing. Just remember the answer is always, two.

Our last day at sea has a competition that we have never seen before, Miss Carnival Breeze. Although the men's “Hairy Chest” competition is still a crowdpleaser this competition was quite entertaining.
