Hi,We are looking into a cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Sun in May,07.It goes Vancouver to Vancouver and the Balcony Cabin is $1,089 PP plus taxes and fees.Does that seem like a good price this far out?? Or can somebody reccommend a website for good cruise prices? We want a balcony cabin because this is our first cruise ever and our first time to Alaska.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Debbie

We were on the N. Sun in Feb-balcony cabin. Nothwithstanding the mediocre opinions about NCL, we had a great trip. Very much liked the ship, the food, and the service. They have a wonderful Tapas bar with great food that I highly recommend. Not too many people on our cruise ever found it. We seem to get the best deals from cruisecompete.com. You essentially input the data, ie ship, date, cabin type etc. The request then goes out to 20 or so agents and they come back with quotes. It is really a 'tender' process. We have saved money by using his service. Once you get the quotes, select the one you want and deal directly with the on line ta. As a result or cruisecompete quotes, we have used cruises-n-more three times. We have been happy with the service they provide.
Wow allanc,Thanks so much for the great info! I'm so glad you enjoyed the N.Sun.
We are looking forward to going on our first cruise. And our first trip to Alaska.I'm sure it will be alot of fun!!
I'll take a look at the website you suggested and see what kind of price they can come up with for my dates.
Thanks again.
Debbie
Our first cruise was on the Sun and we really liked the ship and the freestyle cruising. ..would love to go on her again.
Buycruises.com gave us a great price for our Alaska cruise on the NCL Dream. Phone them as they can sometimes do better than the website. NCL is lacking for Alaska as it does not have a naturalist onboard. This may or may not be a priority for some but it will be for us next time.
Also, check your times in port. 2 of your 3 ports are only about 6 hours...very short..just my opinion.
Good luck. It is such fun planning and a very exciting trip.
Check out cruisecritic.com for lots of info.
Just be aware- with you going in May, you are NOT going to get within view of the Sawyers via Tracy Arm, you are too early. So I suggest you plan on some alt glacier viewing with flights the best choice. At the very least plan on seeing Mendenhall although on a scale is a so so glacier.
Wow.Thank you everyone for your help!
The lowest priced Balcony Cabin is $1,089 and the Mini-suite is $1,349 pp plus taxes/fees.
This is on the NCL cruise to Alaska on May 6-13th,2007.Vancouver to Vancouver.
Can someone find lower prices than I can??
Thanks.
Debbie
Did you try www.cruisecompete.com ?
That will give you a good idea of pricing trends.
