We're going on the Alaska Inside Passage cruise next week. What are the main entertainment shows and which are really good? Any other on-board recommendations (including dining) would also be appreciated. And HOW dressed up or down can and should we be for dinner?
Thanks.

I've never been on the Alaska cruise, but I have cruised on NCL. I found the entertainment pretty decent, the food good, the drinks expensive... :0
You can be as dress UP as you please; we saw men in tuxes and women in formal gowns, but the last time I cruised on NCL, they did not allow jeans, shorts, or Tshirts in the dining rooms. We travelled with several teenagers, and the boys didn't balk about putting on a pair of Dockers and a collared shirt for a few hours, and the girls were permitted to wear capris, pants or sundresses.
tenthumbs- thanks for the reply, although I didn't see it in time for the cruise. FYI, They do prohibit shorts and T-shirts, at least in the nicer dining rooms. Jeans were OK (I wore fairly new ones). I did not see much of the entertainment other than a guy who performed solo guitar and piano versions of 60s and 70s songs- Beatles, Eagles, Jim Croce, James Taylor, etc. I went to the first night's big show which had previews of several of the acts they presented during the week and was not that impressed. Maybe the full shows were better.
I agree that the food was good, sometimes very good, and that the drinks were expensive (but not really out of line with a nice bar or restaurant). We took advantage of their half price specials, so that kept the cost down somewhat.
But the best entertainment was this: we saw about 35-40 humpbacks heading south one morning. The ship went into Glacier Bay and we saw some spectacular scenery. We took shore excursions which included whale watching, going to Mendelhall Glacier and taking a seaplane (which landed in a lake in Misty Fjords Park). And that was why we went on the cruise. We were not disappointed.
Dave~glad you made the best of your experience! My favorite cruise experiences have had less to do with the ship and more to do with the natural beauty of the destination.....
