NCL Mediterranean Cruises

Can anyone comment on Norwegian Cruise Line's Mediterranean cruises? We are looking at a 7-nighter from Venice to Civitavecchia on the Norwegian Jade. It seems reasonably priced, but I'm guessing that shore excursions will all be extra.

As a guide to any feedback you can give us, we would be destination-oriented travellers rather than on-board party animals! A point of special interest therefore, is the amount of time we have on shore excursions.

As an example, the itinerary says "arrive Dubrovnik 8am" and "leave Dubrovnik 5pm". Fair enough - although one might wish for a later departure (especially as the whole of the next day and night is at sea). However, let's say we'll live with that. But then the itinerary says 2 other things: (a) disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking; and (b) at this port we go ashore by tender.

I assume what they call "arrival time" is the docking time, and therefore disembarkation won't begin until 10am? And if disembarkation is by tender, does that mean it's a slow process in which only a few passengers at a time can get ashore? These factors - if I'm understanding it correctly - could drastically reduce the time ashore.
