We are thinking of taking a cruise on the MV Explorer, Semester at Sea's ship on one of their off season commercial ventures. Has any one done this and if so what are your comments?
MV Explorer anyone?

Yes! I worked on the ship last year in the field office for Semester at Sea and absolutely fell in love with the MV Explorer and went back on the Enrichment Voyage this May.
I have been on several other cruises with Holland America and Carnival, and what I love about the MV Explorer is the size (just over 800 passengers, though it's not always full) and the educational opportunities. We had everything from language classes to art workshops to political talks from Joe Biden's sister/campaign manager and a former Congresswoman to magic shows and performances by an a cappella group from The Sing-Off at night. It was so much fun that I'm taking my parents, my husband and a group of 20 from my hometown on the European voyage next April/May.
If you check out my blog (camelsandchocolate.com), most of my recent footage is from the May voyage through Central and South America, and I'm actually giving away a cabin for two people for the voyage this December. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have!
