Hi -- still hoping to find someone who's been on this cruise line. we're thinking of taking it to antarctica in december. the company discoveryworldcruises.com is offering free air fair to BA with the cruise, which is a $1200 savings.
any recommendations for other cruise companies in antarctica would be also welcome. thanks so much!

I found this report recently.I enjoyed it very much and hope you will find it helpful.
Other companies that would be excellent are Quark and Lindblad...not so many passengers but very pricy.
We were on for Antarctic to Tahiti in Feb./Mar and had a very nice time. The staff are all wonderful. The lecturers were the best we have experienced. Going ashore was so amazing, lots of penguins.
This is a older ship but very clean. The food was not the best we have had, but we were able to find something on the menu to try. Sometimes I had the assorted cheese plate for dinner with a dessert.
The hotel in B.A. was wonderful, right by Florida Ave. the shopping street.
I think for the price you can't beat the deal. If you don't have any budgetary constraints, then the smaller, higher priced ships would be the best choice.
If you check on cruisecritic.com other cruise lines, you will be able to read my longer report. The vice president even e-mailed me after reading my post to clarify a problem we had at the disembarkation in Tahiti.
I think you will enjoy Antarctica on the Discovery.

Discovery is good, expensive though. And free airfare does not exists. It is usually included in cruise rate. Compare rates with and without airfare to find out how much the "free" air is.
