I will be crossing the big pond this September on the Millenium from Barcelona to Ft.Lauderdale. I have a cat.2b cabin with a verandah. My question is this. Why such a big price difference between the fall sailing and the spring(Ft.Lauderdale to Barcelona)? Let's just take the Celebrity web site price for the 2b cabin. This fall the price is 2588.50(single), and next spring the same cabin is 3778.00. That's 1200.00 more for the same trip. I don't want responses that I could get a better price here and there. I just want to know why such a big price difference. Does anybody know? Also, anybody doing the same trip this fall? Would love to hear from you. <BR>Andy

Andy - <BR> <BR>They're probably pricing the fall sailing down to unload empty cabins, whereas they can keep the spring price up for now until they see how it's selling. No doubt the spring prices will come down, and anyone who books now should still get the benefit of the price drop(s). As you've no doubt seen, price cuts are rampant in the cruise world, probably due a combination of overcapacity and a slowing economy. Take advantage of it while you can! <BR> <BR>

Andy, <BR> <BR>I seek out repositioning cruises and have discovered that the fall trips are always less expensive in the spring, regardless of the cruise line. I have no idea why - maybe from a marketing perspective, fall cruises are less popular in general...school is starting, cold weather is coming and people have already spent their vacation dollars during the summer? <BR> <BR>I'll be on the same sailing (9/29) - am looking forward to spending a few days in Barcelona beforehand and relaxing on those days at sea! My cat 5 cabin (single) was SOOOO cheap - only $1942. What a deal!!
