Magesty of the seas vs. Ecstacy.

This is our first cruise. We have been watching these posts and have heard lots of people loving or hating each ship. Is there a big price difference ? Is royal Caribbean
much more money ? Is it worth more money. Our agent only proposed Carnival. Any Suggestions would help.
What would you do ?

You don't say how old you are or what you like to do. Carnival is much more of a "party" ship. I sailed the Ecstacy several years ago and had a good time. Then I started sailing Royal Caribbean and won't go back to Carnival. Royal Caribbean has MUCH better food and service and is just over all much more classy than Carnival. If you are a party animal--go Carnival. If you like to balance partying and fine service and class, go Royal Caribbean.

You should also consider Celebrity, in my humble opinion.
We sailed on Carnival Fantasy then next year we sailed on Royal carribean. I would take Royal Carribean. We sailed on Majesty of Seas. The dining experience on the ship was worth the price alone. Carnival is more neon especially on the Fantasy and our kids had a much better time on the Majesty. The price is hard to compare because Carnival was 4 night and rccl was 7 night. For our first cruise our agent aimed us toward Carnival, but I did a lot more reading and checking and planned the cruise We wanted. Do your checking and there are deals out there.

Rusty, The prices for Celebrity are comparable to RCI or Princess. Celebrity is now owned by RCI, but all that I've read says that the food is the Best of any mainstream cruise line. I plan on cruising with them next time. But for now, we are sailing on RCI's Grandeur of the Seas, Dec 16 from San Juan.

You can compare prices easy online at www.travelco.com. Then you'll have a good basis to shop around.
