Info on RCCL out of Galveston

I am interested in taking the Rhapsody out of Galveston in June and would like info on this ship and the experiences on this ship. I also need to know if you think teens would enjoy this ship. Thanks for info.

Im also interested in hearing about this cruise.... anyone???? Great itinerary! I like the idea of being in Key West longer than normal cruise itineraries

We are booked for May on the Rhapsody. Never cruised RC before..only CCL and NCL. Highly recommended by the TA we've always booked through who likes RC and especially this ship. I hope someone responds here who has actually been as I'd like to see what their opinion is.

Cant comment on the itinerary, but the ship is a beautiful one - sister to the Spendor, Grandeur and one other that escapes me. We took it on the Mex Riviera a year ago. The crew was delightfull, the public rooms gorgeous and all area well maintained. My oldest used the teen club and would rate it the best we've been with - of course that could change with the crew - but RCCL tends to be teen sensitive in my opinion - more so than Princess anyway.

My wife and I just returned from a seven day cruse on the Rhapsody. We departed out of New Orleans and had a great time. I do know the ship was going to dry dock for a week to be refurbished. Our dining room waiter said they were putting in new carpet, chaires and fixtures. Evidently a complete makeover. The ship was great. It was our first cruise and we were very happy. The food was better than average and we upgraded to a balcony cabin which gave us a very nice room. Our stateroom staff and dinning room staff were very plesant and helpful. After the "makeover" the ship goes to Galveston and RCCL brings in another ship to New Orleans. We live in Louisiana and would drive to Galveston to sail on that ship again. We didn't take our kids but we observed the kids clubs. One area for the older kids and another for younger children. One day they had boat races with the younger kids at the pool. They had made the boats at the kids club. Plenty of adult activity. Some of it was a little "campy" but the cruise director, Kyle, was very good. Bottom line you could do as much or as little as you wanted. I thought the ship was great. You could see some ware and tare but even then it was fantastic. Can't wait to see it after the makeover. By the way, our iteniary was Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman with three sea days. One word of caution, they say you can't reserve pool chairs but if you don't get there early you will have a hard time finding a seat. (on sea days) We had the 8:30 seating but would probably go for the 6:00pm next time just our prefrence. Ask for Isabella from Poland, she was our main waiter and did a fantastic job. They have "parades" of the wait staff and they sing songs twice on a seven day cruise. The gala midnight buffet was unbeliveable. Also, they say they offer "snacks" at the solarium but that turned out to be pizza, hamburgers, french fries and hotdogs. There were no chips, pretzels etc... Hope this helps, have a great trip!!!
