Infinity or Summit in Alaska?

I think I have narrowed it down to, two ships, Infinity on the inside passage or Summit 7 day Northbound, and if we go on the Northbound should we book the air through the travel agent? We will be going the first week in July to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary. Please help we have never cruised before and I have been on the computer doing homework for three days.
Thanks,
Cindy
Good news is that the ships are "sisters" - so you are choosing from two identical ships!

With open legs - it is often cheaper to book air through the cruiseline. If you decide to go this way - pay for the deviation and pick your flights. It is worth the $35-$50.

I will be on Radiance June 29 - July 6th.
Hi Cindy,

Although you will save money doing the rouind trip you will miss quite a bit of Alaska. Unless you plan on going back again book the one way cruise.

Paul
Hi Cindy,

A suite is not necessary unless you plan on spending quite a bit of time in your stateroom. A balcony room is just fine.

Paul
Hi Cindy,

Hope you are staying in Seward after your cruise. It is the"real" Alaska. It would take me hours to descrbe what there is to do in that city and surrounding areas. There are two bus companies that will take to the Anchorage airport.

Best for you to speak to a travel agent that is an Alaska specialist.

Paul

Thanks Paul, I do have a good travel agent, but I wanted to get other input. Yes we are staying, after the cruise, we arrive Seward on the 12th and leave for home from Anchorage the 18th, what we do in between is still in the planing stage. Do you know anything about the Great Alaskan Coupon book? We want to take the train sometime, as my husband,, me too, love trains,,, maybe to go to Fairbanks? It seems from the website you can get your tickets cheeper that way,,, good or no?
Any sugestions would be appreciated.
