Does anyone have any experience with this cruise? Carnival is running a GREAT special on it for May sailings. I have never been on a cruise (we usually do all-inclusive vacations in Caribbean) but my husband did Ecstasy 6 years ago to Key West and Cozumel and thought it was great for Spring Break.
We are in our late 20's with no children and like fun, active vacations with lots of entertainment. I have heard horror stories about the number of kids on Carnival cruises and was therefore thinking about Royal Carib but this special is to good to pass up and maybe kids will stil be in school in May.
Any info about this ship, this itin, or Carnival in general is appreciated!

Took Carnival's Holiday years ago on this same itinerary - and can recommend walking Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios and if you like snorkeling/scuba than Grand Cayman is an excellent place for that - plus it has great beaches if you just want to lay out.
I took this cruise a couple of years back and highly recommend it. As the previous poster said, Dunn's River is the thing to do in Ocho Rios and I think Grand Cayman speaks for itself. Excellent snorkeling. I've heard that Carnival's boats are hit or miss but the Imagination is definitely a hit!!
We've done those islands on a 7day itinerary. We really like to get off ship and make our own arrangements. Jamaica is alittle overwhelming when you get off the boat, hawkers hit you with most anything you might want [drugs to t-shirts] just ignore it, we picked out a cabbie and hired him for the day, drove all over, had a great lunch, saw the crowd at the falls and were glad we hadnt done that. You form a huge line, hand-in-hand and follow each other up a rocky stream. In cayman, get off and ask for a boat owner named George Bush [no kidding] he took us out to his boat, supplied us with shrimp and we fed and swam with the stingrays. UNBELIEVABLE> Saw video of the Cruise group at Sting ray city when we got back on the boat,not nearly the experience we had, at half the cost.ON the way back he stopped at 7 mile beach and then recommended a GREAT restaurant for lunch. Have a blast. Pam.
My wife and I took this cruise last year and had a blast. Didn`t see a lot of kids.It`s a big ship so plan on getting lost a lot,but thats part of the fun. Great food and service. Relax and have fun.
We got back from this same cruise yesterday. Since it was our first cruise, we don't have any comparison, but I can say they did a great job at squirreling the kids away at Camp Carnival -- we hardly realized there were any kids on board! Well, unless you count the numerous teenagers that were on board. Don't know if they were spring breakers with family, or part of a wedding pary, or what, but there did seem to be a fair number of them. Not too obnoxious (although there's always an exception).
I think they booked our dinner table based on age, as we ended up with 4 other late 20's / early 30's couples, and had a great time. The shore excursions they offer cover almost any activity level, and there's enough little activities on board to keep you amused if you want (trivia, silly game shows, backstage tours, talks on the ports, etc). The social hosts, Pip & Steve were great, and the cruise director, Haste, is a stitch.
I have the feeling Carnival is a great way to get started on cruises, and then move to other lines as you get a feel for what you want.
I would give it a go -- especially if it's a great price!!
I can't give you advice on Carnival. I will be taking my first Carnival cruise this summer. Have cruised on other lines and would like to add a bit of advice on Dunn's River Falls. You don't have to climb the falls. I went with my sister n' law last summer and there is a flight of stairs besides the falls where you can climb and get in and out of the falls wherever you want. We did that and had a great time because it was relaxing.
I have climbed the falls before, so I didn't want to do it again - been there, done that. But the falls are beautiful and going to Dunn's River is one of those "must see if you go to Jamaica".
As a young and active person, you may get a kick out of climbing them. Have a great time and take advantage of the sale!
