How do I find my ship at Fort Lauderdale Port?

This is probably a stupid question, but this is our first cruise and I can't find any information about where we board our ship. We're on the Caribbean Princess leaving Sunday out of Fort Lauderdale Port and I have no idea what to tell the cab driver. Many thanks from this cruise newbie...

Beachboi is right...

Just tell the cab you need to get to the port. When you are pulling in there will be signs everywhere directing you to the different cruiselines and ships.

And since its your first cruise, you may not know that when you get out of the cab, a bellman (who looks like some random guy, they don't wear uniforms or anything) will come and take your luggage from you. It will show up outside your door at some point that night! So you may want to make sure you have stuff with you to wear to dinner (like a "carry-on" bag) because you may not have your luggage by then. On our last cruise we didnt get our luggage until REALLY late that night so be prepared!

You're going to have such a great time!

This will be the easiest part of your trip. From the airport you'll either take a shuttle or a cab. The port is a very controlled area. You'll pass through a security checkpoint and everyone who enters (cabs, etc.) know what they are doing. If there is any question, they will be told where to go and no-one is allowed in this area to just drive around looking.... you'll see what I mean once you're in.

Since this is your first cruise you'll also see that it is obvious as soon as you enter the port where you're going since the ship are so massive you'll probably see your ship even before entering the port gates. Fort Lauderdale is a bit spread out, so maybe not, but dont worry.

Anyway, relax, just tell your drive which ship you're on and they'll take it from there.

Have a great time on your first cruise.

It's call Port Everglades. See their site below.
http://www.porteverglades.org/

It is very close to the airport. Maybe $10 to $12 cab ride fare. Make sure you tell the cab driver that you are going on a Princess cruise on the Caribbean Princess.

The port is quite big and is consisted of North Port, Mid Port and South Port. Most large crusie ships are docked at the south port but I think Princess ships are docked at the North Port.

We did run into a cabbie at the Miami airport one time who didn't comprehend "Port of Miami" (and we got out of that cab FAST), but it has never been a problem at the Fort Lauderdale airport--just tell the cabbie Port Everglades and the name of the ship. He'll do the rest.

Have your cruise documents and ID handy because security at the Port Everglades pier entrance usually asks to see them.

Don't forget to put your ship's luggage tags on suitcases before you hand them over to the stevedore at the pier. Also, don't forget to tip the cab driver AND the stevedore... you do want to see your luggage later on the ship

Bon Voyage!
