Hawaii Cruise
Appreciate all your comments previously about the Hawaiian cruise, but I have been told the "Pride of America" is a party cruise ship. We are in our 50's and looking for a quite ( with not too many kids) and relaxing cruise. Love to hear from any one who has experienced this cruise, and we are going in Dec 2011.

I am looking for an Hawaii cruise as well and have beard mixed reviews on NCL Pride of America. Too bad all the otehr ships are 12 days form the west coast and take 4 sea days to get there, cruise 4 days and then 4 sea days to get abck.

We took this cruise last January. It was very good. Fairly port intensive, didn't notice any bad, loud behaviour.
We are in our late 40's/50's
Lovely way to see the islands.
Not sure about children, we went in term time so there might be a few more if you travel in the holidays. The children we met were fine and no trouble at all.
I would recommend the cruise.

Eschew,
We have sailed with Princess and P & O.
Whilst NCL is not quite the same standard as Princess (in our opinion)
We found it very good. The food was slightly hit and miss, the atmosphere very good
And the staff were lovely.
We would sail with them again if the itinerary was right with no hesitation.
With the Hawaii cruise you are on land for the most part.

Thanks jomf ... DW is still trying to figure out what to do with all the sea days on the other cruise lines. With the cost of flying there, it's not that much more expensive (or maybe even cheaper) taking the long boat ride.
My experience with NCL is consistency. I have been told the Pride of America is the most inconsistent of them all. I knew a few people who loves NCL and will cruise exclusively NCL.
