We are cruising from Anchorage to Vancouver and trying to determine if the 3 day Mt. Mckinley/ Denali land package is worth the extra money. Do you have enough time to plan any extra excursions once there? Is that area any more spectacular than what we will experience getting off and doing land tours in Skagway , Juneau, and Ketchican? Thanks for any imput.
Has anyone done the Denali land package through Princess Cruises?

Happy Trails!
Rent a car and go ther on your own, very easy to do.
Since you are going from Anchorage, plan to get there a few days earlier, and do as HappyTrvlr says, rent a car and go on your own. The drive is interesting, you can spend as much time in Denali as you plan to without having to cut it short to get in line with the cruise people.
If you don't want to drive, take the train from Anchorage to Denali.
Absolutly, yes....we did the train trip to Denali and stayed at the lodge. The train is amazing, and we went to Denali on a bus and saw everything there. It was early May, so we saw every type of animal except grizzleys..then on to Fairbanks and home. I would highly recommend it, if you don't want to drive.
