Has anyone been on the Crown Princess 10-day Panama Canal cruise?

Hi Diane, Went on the Crown Princess to the Panama Canal last April. Had a great time. The weather was beautiful the whole 10 days. Going thru the canal was fascinating to watch. Was not on Gatun Lake very long, ship was off schedule and had to cut that portion short. The ship itself was very nice. Had been on her sister ship the Regal, just as nice. Had a cabin with a balcony, worth every extra penny. <BR>Especially going thru the canal when everyone else was up on the decks fighting for a spot to watch the proceedings. The food was some of the best we have had, beef welington, lobster, prime rib, etc. Have been on 8 cruises and this trip was the most consistence for food and shows. No problem getting seats by the pool. Our waitstaff was excellent and our room was spotless, they have a great staff. The cruise director was super. Boarding and disembarking went fast and found no lines anywhere. Try the Pizza its delicious, so were the burgers and dogs on the Lido deck by the pool. They had ice cream, usually 2 flavors every day up on the Lido deck in the buffet area. Although we are seniors we enjoyed seeing a good mixture of young people and not to many children because its not school vacation, best time to go if you don't want children running all over the place. We are going on our 9th cruise in Dec. on Carnival's Triump with 8 other couples. <BR>Should be a good time to go, not crowded and the ship decorated for the holidays. Thank you so much, Jeanne, for the upbeat report. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I am also a senior, and this will be our first cruise, so was hoping that we chose the right cruise and ship. Wish we had a balcony too, but the $1,200 extra was just a bit too much. I'm so happy to hear that the food is good, as I think that's what everyone expects on a cruise---gourmet dining. Hope we have as good experience as you did.

Hi again Diane, sorry I answered your question without reading the other replies. They are pretty much on the money. I'm sure you will like the cruise as it is geared toward people 40 yrs old and up. If you wish to know anything about the ports, including a very unique souvenir dirt cheap, please contact me.
