First time on a cruise
We are going on the Disney Wonder in April, first time ever on a cruise, thought we would try a 4 night one, any suggestions, should we get off for the excursions or stay on the boat?

I obviously have no clue where you are going, but I think excursions would be key to enjoying the vacation. Doesn't mean you can't have fun on the boat - but check out your options when you get your travel docs (or ahead of time, if possible) and see what looks like it would be interesting.

Without having any knowledge re your ports of call, don't you like to travel and see new places? This is a purely personal decision. Moreover, if you are short on $$$ and do not want to pay for the excursions, you can get off the boat and explore those places on your own.

I think that ship goes from port canaveral to the bahamas, right? Well, the bahamas is not the most exciting of all possible ports, but unless you are disabled or have a Bahamian warrant out on you, I can't see why you would not get off the ship?

Many older cruisers stay on the ship because it is nearly empty. Also, many passengers who have been to a port multiple times and are bored, may decide to stay on the ship.

Besides, who said that you have to do one of the ship's excursions? You can just catch a taxi to Paradise Island and see the fancy hotel/casino on your own.

I forgot. Make sure you bring seasick medicine. We just back from our third cruise and we had bad weather which resulted in huge waves. My husband was deathly ill (unexpectedly, since he hadn't been sick before) for the first time. I doubt you will have this problem, but be prepared, just in case.
