Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles' bill calling for a $30 per person head tax on all cruise ship passengers has died in the legislature. Moderators - can I assume by your silence that Fodors approves of Paul's weekly "news piece"? If so, I'd like to voice my concern over this practice.

Where does it stop. Can anyone use this site to post any information it wants. Yes, Paul's information is related to cruises but it asks no questions nor provides any answers to questions already posted. Isn't that exchange what Fodors has in mind for this internet space? If you continue to allow this type of activity, we'll soon be seeing various types of advertising as we're already seeing over on the mytravelco site! Is this what Fodors really wants?

By the way, Paul - just a coincidence that the title of your little weekly diatribe is "Cruisenews"? Pretty close to Alan's Cruisenewsdaily!!!!

I for one look foward to Paul's Cruisenews postings. Quick read with lots of "heads-up" type info.

P E T E R . . .

....... G E T A L I F E!

(I'M SHOUTING. CAN YOU HEAR ME?)

Then get on his email distribution list. This site is for cruisers needing answers to questions or for cruisers providing them.

I can hear you just fine - and I'm the one with the problem?

Peter - where does it say that only questions and answers are allowed? Last I'd heard, "forum" meant: discussion, meeting, roundtable.
I never seem to see you solely asking or answering any questions, either...

Phil - never is pretty definitive word -please reference a post where I have not answered a question or asked a question! If you can find one, I promise to never visit this forum again.

And for your information - here is what Fodors says about this site:

"Travel Talk is a place for travelers to converse with other travelers. Ask questions, get advice, or share great stories from your trips. But please keep to the topic -- travel. All postings must be your own words (i.e., no cutting and pasting of copyrighted material). A civil tone and no advertising or commercial promotion are also requested."

What say you Fodorites - is this site for anyone to post whatever "travel" information they want - or is it a site for an exchange of questions, answers or opinions (and sometimes corrections of mis-information!)?
To All,

For those that do not know Peter he is similar to Lucy in the Peanuts comic strip.

He has a data-base of all my posts going back quite some time. I know he is my nemesis. He does not bother me and I do not respond to his posts.

Seems to me he is a text stalker. Why a seemingly intelligent person will do this is beyond me.

Possibly some good doctor can explain the reason for his rantings.

In the meantime I will continue giving advice and public awareness information. But please remember I am not God and do make mistakes occasionally.

Happy cruising.

Paul

OK Phil:

"Again...I'll throw out that just maybe he doesn't live in the U.S. of A.!!!!!" - an ANSWER to the QUESTION of why does Paul post around 2:00 to 4:00 in the AM?

"when I want to post on this board I always use my name" - an ANSWER to the ANSWER that I (Peter) don't always use my same name when I post and that probably several of the already posted replies to this thread were by me in disguise.

And Paul - as long as you continue to give "occasional" wrong advice, I will continue to correct you until you relent and offer your advice as that and not FACT. And I will continue to pester Fodors about this "news of interest" buletin of yours as it violates the stated purpose of Travel Talk. If you want to post a weekly newsletter, get a website or use an email distribution list. Post another thread and ask who would all like to be included on the list!

I was wondering how long it would take you to convolute the simple terms, "question," and "answer," to suit your needs: "...an ANSWER to the ANSWER that I (Peter) don't always use..."
All you have to say is "I'm answering an answer" or "answering the question that everyone meant to ask."

I don't know what is the problem with fodors.com cruise forum; this is the craziest board i have every visited. And frankly, I am not fond of peter or paul. I am tired of seeing paul's name so you don't want to know what I think about him as a person. And I am tired of hearing peter complain about him. I WISH BOTH OF YOU TAKE A CRUISE TO NOWHERE AND DON'T COME BACK.
how is that for informative thoughts.
yea, bright ideas.
Go Away!!!!!

St. Peter, it seems that your life is devoted to following Paul from site to site, finding fault(normally silly things) with anything he posts.
You apparently feel superior to Paul in anything mentioned but it appears Paul plays you like a fiddle.
My dear sir, take some more valium, a warm bath and try to relax.Remember the "Pink Panther" movies wherein the chief inspector had a total breakdown?
Careful St. Pete.

Please please please just get rid of both of them. Why Fodors does this is beyond understanding.

Paul is like a pack of matches . In the right situation he may be useful, but not on this playground.

It is obvious to me that after researching Fodors for months now to help plan the European cruise I am leaving on tomorrow that I have received good advice from Paul and only critisms from Peter {who has given misinformation numerous times} I think any info pertaining to travel is helpful and that's why I came to this post. Peter get a life and Paul thanks for your help.

I agree. This Board is getting out of hand and I'm going to have to drop it.
I would encourage all of you to go to the CruiseCritic.com board. It's very active with lots of good and helpful advice and no "travel agents". (At least not on the Celebrity thread. Perhaps Paul posts on the Carnival thread) The Moderator also jumps in when things do start to take a wrong turn. They (and other boards) also have a Cruise News section which is probably where Paul gets his "inside" information.
Happy cruising! We'll be on the Constellation on 7/6/02 since the demise of Renaissance. (Which I STILL regret -- what a great cruise we had with them)

And Sam - as Paul said in one of his med cruise posts (that you thanked him for) - please make sure you only take the ship's exursions because if you wander off on you own, you may not make it back to your ship ALIVE! Bon Voyage.

Paul,

As far as I am concerned, you are a great asset to this site.

You help out thousands of people by your extensive knowledge and optomistic ways.

Those who publish negative comments about you and/or your statements are just jealous.

Please keep up the great work...I for one, very much enjoy reading everything you have to say, and I am grateful for every brilliant word you type.
