The hubs and I (in our 20's) would like to travel back to Europe this summer- went last year to Rome, Florence, Venice and Paris- we flew to Rome and then made our way around- this year i was thinking about a cruise ( no time to plan, and i really hate flying) . Weve never been on a cruise and wanted to know if anyone had any good suggestions of what cruise line to check out- Im open to all suggestions in Europe- the only place were not interested in going to this time is Eastern Europe- saving that for another time. I was also hesitant to book a cruise because then we dont really get to stay in the city and get the whole feel of it and experience.. can anyone persuade me?

Most repositioning cruises (moving ships from the Caribbean to to Europe, for example,) are in April and May. Check Cunard for regular transatlantic cruises.
I believe you mean cruises in Europe, not cruises to Europe. The latter would imply you're looking for a trans-Atlantic crossing, which limits your options once there.
Celebrity has several cruises in Europe, apart from those on the Baltic. If looking at Mediterannean cruises then you're looking at trips that leave from either a cruise port an hour from Rome or from Barcelona.
There are numerous options. I might suggest you look at a website like Orbitz and search first by dates and locations. From there, you can work your way through to decide other things like cost and type of ship.

No, I may have misread the intent of the OP as they did specifically state trans-Atlantic.
I think there are two seperate things you're looking at. You may be looking for a TransAtlantic cruise with multiple ports in Europe either before or after the crossing. My sense is that is a unusual option - unless your intent to to book one portion then the next. At points of the year that may be possible as they are repositioning ships, but other that Cunard, not sure who regularly runs a trans-Atlantic trip.
The Queen Mary 2 does have a regular trans-Atlantic route in the summer months. But many of those trips simply run from New York to Southampton, England with no port stops. Those run from a week to 9 days almost all at Sea
If you're looking for something that includes a Trans-Atlantic portion plus European stops, then I think you'd want to check with a travel agent as that I would think is a rare itinerary and likely to be something where the trip is over two weeks.
April, May, October and November are when most lines "cross the pond" to change crusing regions. Done 2 TA cruises and felt crowd might have been a little bit young than the typical cruise in Europe.
