Cruise ship location in Copenhagen Denmark
I will be going a scandinavian cruise that leaves on july 28th from copenhagen. The ship is Emerald Princess. Does anyone know where the ship will be to embark?

You better check with Princess to be sure.
Princess docks at Langelinie Pier which is about a mile from the City Centre ( Town Hall Square).
Like Eschew said it is about 20 minutes by cab and cost about $ 18.00 US$.
If it should dock at Freeport, then no problem as the Langelinie and Freeport Piers are less than 10 blocks apart.
You can easily walk from Langelinie to the Little Mermaid.

I didn't submit the original question, but I am glad to read the responses. We'll be on the Emerald in Sept. departing from Copenhagen. We'll only have the afternoon before we set sail. Were wondering if we could walk into town after checking in. Sounds like we can.

What you can do is walk along the seaside to the state of the Little Mermaid.
Let me make a clarifcation here:
When I used Princess a couple years ago , they docked at Langelinie.
( I went to the Princess website)
Princess does not dock at Langelinie now , just like Eschew said they now dock at Frihavn ( Freeport).
In fact Costa and HAL also dock at Frihavn.
RCI and NCL now dock at Langelinie.
Some people take the bus from downtown to the docks and this is okay...BUT
let me again tell you about the bus,
It is BUS 26...but LOOK at the bus name ,if it read "To Cruise Ships"...this bus ONLY goes to Langelinie.
If the BUS 26 reads "Faergehavn Nord".. this is the one that goes to Frihavn ( Freeport ) where Princess is.
It cost 3 euros to ride the bus.

Percy-Thanks for your info. We have no particular sites we want to see. We've never been to Copenhagen so were hoping to just see what we could before setting sail. We get to Copenhagen around 11 a.m.,using Princess transfer to the ship, set sail at 6 p.m. If flight is on time, check in goes smoothly, etc., we might have 2-3 hours to take a leisurely stroll and see a little of the area. Walking along the seaside to the Little Mermaid sounds very nice.

The Radisson Blu is only about 2 blocks away from the Old Town Square.
The cab fare will be about $18.00- $20.00 depending which way he goes and how the traffic is.

Wow you are really cutting it short.
You will have to drive to Dallas ( I assume) for your flight to either Amsterdam or London.
Then from Amsterdam or London,you have to connect to Copenhagen.
I do not think you have a direct flight from Dallas to Copenhagen! (?).
By the time you get to the Copenhagen Airport and Princess shuttles you to the building where you have to register and then go on the ship into your cabin ( your luggage will not be there yet.)....
you will want to have a quick face wash at least because you have not shaved of had a decent clean up for almost 24 hours.
Don't fool yourself you will be tired.
Walking to the Little Mermaid is all you will(may ) have time for.
You will be walking from Frihavn Pier ( Freeport) so here is what you do.
1. Walk along the Pier, always keeping the water on your LEFT hand side.
2. Keep walking....as soon as you see green grass turn in to your LEFT toward the water.
3. The Little Mermaid is just 4 blocks ahead and you will first pass by a nice large Monument of an Angle (with wings) standing on a large base with bas-reliefs.
4. Another good landmark to follow is this:
Look across the water, you will see the Amager Power Plant.
The Plant had 4-5 large white smoke stacks with black tips.
You can see these White Smoke Stacks very easily.
The little Mermaid is almost right across from these White Smoke Stacks.
You are not going unitl September so you have time to make changes.
Have you thought of coming at least a day early to Copenhagen, a day before you sail......then it will not be so rush -rush.
Just a thought.

Percy: Happy New Year. Hope the weather is now warmer where you are now. Sorry Percy, I thought the little mermaid is over-rated compared to everything else you can see in Copenhagen. I still can't get over that roof of the old stock exchange. Canal cruise would be soemthing we would like to do when we are in copenhagen next, plus the Church of our Saviour staircase that I missed due to high wind.
Dark_Magic: I think we paid around 250 Danish Krones for the cab ride from the hotel which was a block from the Tivoli Garden. (about 50 USD?) It was early morning with no traffic. With traffic, all bets are off and you may have to add another 100 Kronas or more.
1965: Copenhagen would be a place we like to revisit although we had spent a few days pre-cruise there already. There are lots to see. If you can arrange for an early arrival (and I means days ahead), it is worth your while. Hotels maybe a bit pricy (200+USD per night at Scandic Weber) but restaurants are plentiful nearby, prices were reasonable, quality & service good.
We only cabbed from airport to hotel (about 300 Danish Krones) and then from hotel to cruise port. Other than that, we walked everywhere as we picked a hotel that was centrally located.
One caution about arriving last minute with only hours to spare: weather can be an issue. Immigration would be another one. Our flight was delayed slightly and we found that when we got off the plane, there were literally thousands of people ahead of us in line for immigration (It seems a few jumbo jets including a new double decker Airbus 380 landed before we did) Took us almost an hour to get pass the line up at immigration. Good thing we were not in a hurry.

Yes it is getting warmer , but warmer is relative .
I agree that after having seen the Little Mermaid several time ,that there are better places to see... BUT
you know when in Copenhagen you want to be able to say you saw the Little Mermaid.
Again I agree about the roof and building of the Old Stock Exchange.
Actually the Canal Tour ( for an hour ) is a good idea.
You see a lot of places like the Stock Exhange, Christianborg Palace, Opera House , Amalienborg Place ( Royal Palace), Frederik's Church ( Huge Dome),Little Mermaid, Gefion Fountain and many other places as the boat makes its one hour loop through the canal.
If it was me I would come at least a day ealier.
(I see cab fares go up every year like they do everywhere else)
