Constellation cancellation for May 12th?
My fiance and I are booked on the 7-night western mediterranean on Constellation for our honeymoon.

Just received word from my travel agent that there is a possiblity that Celebrity may cancel this cruise because of underbooking.

If so, we will be transferred to the Royal Caribbean line on Spleandour of the Seas - it takes the same route as the Constellation.

Does anyone else know about this possible cancellation? Does Royal Caribbean compare to Celebrity?

Jeff - your travel agent is probably feeding you crap. The Constellation returned to the shipyards in France after one of the starboard pods began taking in saltwater. If it is a seal, they may still make the 5/12 sailing; if its worse (like the Summit and Infinity), they will likely miss the 5/12 sailing. They will make the call on Monday, 5/6.

If I were you, I'd jump all over the deal to go on the Spendour even though it skips Corsica and does Livorno instead. At least you'll get a cruise for your honeymoon. The Spendour won't be quite as nice as the Constellation, but the crew has been working together for awhile so the service and food will be good.

Thanks for the information.

I am going to be in Paris this week so will be relying on my travel agent to let me know if it will be Constellation or Splendor. Either way I guess we'll be cruising for the first time!

Peter- Is this a common problem Celebrity has with their ships - sounds pretty serious.

we have a party of 6 scheduled for the may 12th sailing. what is likelyhood of us getting on the splendor of the seas with the same type of room at this short notice? we're leaving on wednesday for a few days in barcelona. have'nt heard a word from our travel agent yet. perhaps they are waiting til tomorrow to get word from celebrity. this news has us a little freaked out at the moment. any info would be appreciated
