I'm doing a 3-day on the Miracle next month and reviews are hard to come by. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Anyhow, does anyone have any tips, comments, etc., that would be helpful and/or interesting before I go? Also, is the theater a full-blown theater showing first run movies or something smaller like on RCCL Explorer that only shows "informational" movies? Thanks!
Carnival Miracle - any tips?

Meaghan,
I'm very interested in your assessment of the Miracle, as we're sailing her in late July, 2005. Find any more info??

Well, to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with the ship. I thought the public areas were loud and gaudy. It seemed like every time I turned a corner there was another naked picture -I couldn't help but chuckle to think of my teenage boys and all the comments they would be making if they were with me! Then at the one end there is Gatsby's Garden which looks sort've like a wedding chapel - muted tones and lots of white - very out of place!!!
The main dining room had these huge pink globe lights all over that were supposed to be grapes, but a fellow guest commented that they looked like giant chicken pox and that's all I could think of every time we ate.
It was a short trip with a day in Nassau and on our second day it was too chilly to do much out on deck. This wasn't really a big deal though as my friend and I found the indoor hot tub (in the spa area) and spent the day relaxing. The gym and spa area was beautiful - lots of glass and none of the purples and neons.
On a positive note - our room was wonderful and it was the most comfortable bed I think I had ever slept on. We had a balcony and used one of the chairs to keep the door propped open at night. Even when it was chilly, the thick white comforter kept me very cozy and it was three of the best nights' sleep I've ever had (maybe being away from the kids and having a few cocktails at dinner helped too!)
I don't want to sound too negative, but I really wouldn't sail on the Miracle again just because I think there are probably nicer ships out there and I know my family would not be impressed with the decor. But, taste is a personal thing and I have read other places where people rant and rave how beautiful she is, so take it for what it's worth.
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
