We want to go on a Carnival cruise to the Southern Caribbean, leaving November 21,2004.I saw Cruise411.com has the lowest rate for a inside cabin for around 1250.00 for two. We've been on Carnival before and like the inside cabins. Is it better to book the cruise now or wait until a couple weeks before the cruise to see if we can get a better rate? I'd hate to book now then find out I could of got it cheaper. Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure how it is on carnival but for NCL we booked at a really great price around 9 or 10 months in advance. The NCL rep said that since we have a deposit down if a better deal comes along on that same cruise they can give us the better deal, as long as it is before we pay our final amount, which is due about 6 weeks before the cruise. She said even then we could be upgraded for a small fee. She said the earlier you book (at least at NCL) the more chance you have for an upgrade at a really good price, since the option goes to the earlier bookers first. Another thing is, depending on the port you leave from, if you wait until the last couple of weeks and you need air fare, that might be a problem because there's a chance the flight will be sold out. If you don't have to fly you have much better flexability in taking the chance of booking at the last minute and maybe getting a really good deal.
