Best price you paid for your cruise

Well since we are all anonymous I thought you wouldn't mind sharing what you paid for your cruise experiences total final cost.

I looked up a 11 day cruise on Disney- room with a balcony and the price was over 5 grand. That doesn't include airfare. Is this a good value? I have no idea what is considered a good price for a cruise.

I realize that cabin styles etc make a difference in price but I don't want to get gouged.

Care to share what you pay for your cruises?

I think you had better recheck your facts--Disney doesn't even HAVE a 11 day cruise!!

Wanna try again?

WOW!! I stand corrected. I was checking prices on one site I use and it still had them listed as all 3 and 4 day cruises.

I checked the website that I reserve my cruises on and they DO list this 11 day cruise. Looks good. ($1359. inside) Wonder why Disney would do a long cruise when all the kids should be back in school? Maybe all those babies 0-4 will be on board, huh?

Looks like a nice itinerary!

Happy cruising--redshoe!! You'll have to let us how you liked it and if you found the prices to your liking!

Disney is good but expensive. Unless you travel with kids, I don't see the reason to pay that much when you can find a lot lower prices on RC, Princess or HAL. You may also want to consider ocean view or even inside instead of balcony, if this is your first cruise and you're not spoiled yet.

Just returned from a 11-day cruise in French Polynesia on the Tahitian Princess....paid around $1,200.00 p.p. for a balcony cabin. Have taken several 7 night cruises on several different cruiselines; from $790 to $950 p.p. (balcony cabin).

When are you going? Hurricane season will make a difference in the price. How many people?? I would get several prices from different kinds of travel agents and websites. It's a great education. Try cruisecompete.com, cruisequick.com and vacationstogo.com

We are flexible on our dates, but we were aiming for Sept/Oct--- there will be two adults and one child. I requested a quote from cruise complete.

Best Price ever was an 11 night Western Europe cruise this past may Princess mini-suite for just under $1200 per person. The price kept dropping from $2200 every few weeks, we just kept an eye on it and was able to get the lowest rate about a mont prior to the sailing.

As mentioned above, Disney is a pretty expensive cruise line, if you don't have kids I'd shop around, I think you can do much better with other cruise lines

I have one child, he will be almost 3 at time of cruise. I picked Disney because I thought it would be better suited for kids, but if there are other lines that are just as good, I'm open. I just don't want my son to be a nusiance for other couples trying to have a relaxing vacation

Wow, that's so thoughtful of you Redshoe! Sorry, I don't have kids but hopefully someone else can help you with other cruise lines that offer good children's programs. I haven't heard a negative comment about Disney yet, except that it is child oriented, lol Have a great trip

We just got back from an eleven day cruise over New Year's - Dec.27-Jan.7- on NCL's Majesty for $850@. Yes, it was a really good size inside cabin but that price was a holiday price. In November we were on Carnival's Glory, 7 days, top cat inside, for $479. In April, '04, we were on Carnival's Legend, top cat inside, for $379. Those prices included all taxes and port charges. We have had suites with names, balcony cabins and outside cabins but have gotten so we don't mind inside at all, especially for the price. We have a GREAT TA who only does cruises. Our last balcony was a few years ago, 7 days, Princess, for about $850.If you email me at [email protected], I will give you her name and number. She saved a friend $2,000 on their cruise.

Redshoe,

Do you want to kill two birds with one stone: get a good cruise with great kids programs and pay a very reasonable price? Book Carnival and don't listen to negative staff you may hear. Just make sure you go on one of the newest and biggest ships. There are plenty of them.

Sounds like spur saying 'delete your membership here and email me privately and listen to my opinion only' Hmmmmm

Not exactly, Ziana. Don't delete your membership here becasse it's fun. You can e-mail me privately, well, if you have my e-mail. My advise is not to listen to bad rap that Carnival gets because it is obviously wrong. This is my opinion, and one may or may not listen to it (but keep in mind it is always correct, LOL).
