I have never cruised before nor has my roommate for this trip. We are 60ish and want to try a short cruise before getting really financially involved. From what I have read of Carnival, I don't want to go on their ships. What else is avaialable and what is good?

I enjoyed our trip on Royal's Sovereign of the Seas. Stops at Nassau and their private island.

Disney does 3 and 4 day cruises from Florida (Port canaveral) to nassau too. in general disney is much more expensive than carnival, but since you have already excluded carnival, i think Disney is your only choice departing from canaveral. you might have a few more choices from ft. lauderdale and miami.

Carolyn,<BR>I wouldn't waste my time trying a 3 day cruise. Remember the first day is a travel day (mostly) and the day you return you are up early and getting ready to disembark.<BR>Try at least a 5 day.<BR>My best cruise so far was a 21 day to SE Asia. It seemed too short.<BR>

I took the 3 night Sovereign of the Seas cruise last February with my sister and 13 yr. old son. It was the worst travel experience that I have ever had. <BR>Our room was not clean. The food was of poor quality...a piece of grouper that was so tough it could not be cut with a knife. <BR>Three night cruises do not seem to compare with 7 day cruises. We have also cruised Disney and had a wonderful time, but I wouldn't do a Disney cruise if I didn't have kids.
