We will be in Barcelona next month for one night between two cruises and are looking for a hotel that would be convenient to the cruise port. (leaving on Royal Caribbean)
We will be spending 5 days in Barcelona before the first cruise, so a sightseeing location is not as important.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Barcelona hotel near cruise port?

I stayed at the Tryp Apollo which is a Sol Melia chain of hotels and it was nice and the location was walking distance ...
to
The Columbus Monument and La Rambla.
Also it is a 10 minute taxi ride to the Port.
Percy
Thanks Percy!
We are considering the Tryp Apollo and also the Best Western Hotel 54 (suggested by Maribel on the Europe forum).
I really appreciate your suggestion!
Awesome! Back to back's from Barcelona. Do you have a hotel for the first leg? Hello Percy
Hello jacketwatch. We are planning on renting an apartment near Sagrada Familia.
Thats cool. I thought to recommend one if you had not arranged for a place already. Cheers, Larry
Hi Everyone
Hi jacketwatch
awayami2:
You have 5 days in Barcelona and that will give you time to see almost all you want to see.
The Sagrada Familia is not exactly near La Ramblas but that is okay because as you stated the location for these 5 days is not that important.
Make sure you see all of Guadi's building and his park.
Walk the Ramblas all the way from Barcelona's Central Square ( Place de Catalunya) to the Columbus Monument...
There is lots to see just walk and you will see some good street entertainers.
Percy
Thanks Percy!
We cruisers go to The Continental on the top of The Ramblas...you might want to call it a boutique hotel..lol..includes continental breakast and refreshments available all day long.. plus owner and hr son on premises..and if you need a guide or driver read the posting to PERCY above.. lol
