Balconies on Infinity

I remember reading somewhere that there are some balconies on Infinity that one should avoid and now I can't find the review anywhere. The person said that some had no view downward and I think he said that if you are in the very midship you can't see well because of the inset. Does anyone know about this. We need to have some ideas before selecting our cabins. We are currently in 2A but hope to upgrade at least to 1B or 2B. Actually I'm hoping for a Sky Suite but doubt that will happen. Wish us luck!

hope you get lots of response to this one we will be interested too. We have just booked 2 x 2B Cabins with balconies on the vista deck. Because we've booked so early (next Sept) we got to choose the cabin numbers, our TA told us to book right in the mid-ship as the balance is better. Hope we done the right thing - Good Luck with the suite, we are keeping our fingers crossed for one aswell.

Hi, I am on the Infinity in Alaska right now. Sky Deck (9) is not great. You can hear people walking right above you because the Deck above is where restaurants, and activities are located. I would pick 8th floor. Center of Boat is the best. We have not had great cruising weather although rain not too bad in ports or at glacier. Careful what table you get in dining room. 5th floor better than 4th, try for something around the edge, right in center is like being at a big wedding right over engine. Confirm dinner reservations as soon as you get on board. First night is a zoo. Food is OK to Good, but it is mass service. 15 minute window to get into dining room. Take train ride in Skagway, Glacier tour in Jeaneu..got to go husband just lost everything on his email

We weren't bothered by noise on the penthouse deck (6) and in cabin 6131 we got a larger balcony than similar suites. Because of the jut-out, it was great for glacier viewing.

I know what Linda means about the engine noise in the dining room. We were right by the window on the 4th floor and could barely hear on the first night. After that, when the ship slowed down, it was fine though and the view was nice.

Did you have rain at Hubbard, Linda? I think the people who went on the Aug. 10 cruise must've got the good weather.

In that dining room the 5th floor, as Linda suggested, might be better. I don't know for sure but it would seem to make sense as it is sort of like a balcony over the 4th floor.
