Are ANY beverages free on Princess?

Taking the Ocean Princess Vancouver to Seward in August. I understand they charge for sodas and bottled water (how much, by the way?). Do they offer ANY beverages at all free of charge? Juices, iced tea, lemonade, coffee, tea, etc.? Is the tap water drinkable? I am not a big soda drinker and normally drink filtered water at home. It just seems funny to me that you can get all the steak, lobster, etc. you want but have to pay for a bottle of water. I know they supposedly won't let you bring your own alcohol on board -- do they care if you bring bottles of water, soda, etc.?

Certainly, bring your own beverages, for cabin use only. All water is purified.

Not sure what Tellie meant but on Dawn Princess they confiscated ALL soda, beer and alcohol. I was able to carry on fruit juice and wine. I can't say I saw anything like lemonade or ice tea either offered on board or carried on by passangers. I would think a Snapple or something similar would be allowed.
I have no idea if they charge for a virgin type drink but its a good question.

I'm fairly sure that coffee, hot and iced tea, water and possibly lemonade are available 24/7 for free. During breakfast they also have juice and milk. You will always pay for sodas, alcoholic beverages and bottled water.

I don't drink coffee or tea (because I've never acquired a taste for either), but I need caffeine to get me going in the morning. At home I always drink Diet Mt Dew and planned to take a small amount on board with me. I don't really like coke or diet coke, but will drink it to get my caffeine fix if that's all that's offered. Are you saying they will confiscate my Diet Dew? Bummer!

I have to say, my Princess experience (Dawn/Southern Caribbean/Nov,01) they would have taken your Dew.

And yet another reason to sail Carnival. They let you bring on soda and booze and everything. They say no booze, but I have always brought it on.

Jimbo - gosh, I don't guess it would possible to pick you out of a crowd, would it? Not if you were in the local Walmart or at a NASCAR racetrack! Burp.

Don't worry Michele, there ARE free drinks on Princess(my experience was on The Royal Princess to Iceland out of Dover). The regular coffee, tea, lemonade, tap water, hot chocolate and my favorite, iced tea were free.I also took a few cans of Pepsi with me (maybe 4 cans) just enough to get me to the first port. There I would buy liters or cans to carry on board after a day of shopping/sightseeing--never having a problem coming on board.
Hope you enjoy your cruise.

Free beverages on Princess - juice & milk at breakfast, tap water, iced tea, hot tea, & coffee all day. Expresso & cappucino are also free in the dining rooms. I've haven't had any problems carrying bottled water or wine on board.
