And now for Cruise Trip Insurance

Jump to last reply

My recent thread about Oceania Caribbean cruise in December has gotten a lot of great comments.

Now on to Insurance. My fear, in December, is the possibility of a hurricane. I've briefly looked at various trip insurance companies, and wonder if we could get insurance that covers a hurricane while on the ship. IOW - What if we're docked in one place for a few days because we can't travel to the other islands due to a hurricane?

I do see that some insurance covers cancellation of the trip or if your plane is delayed because of a hurricane but ...
(1) What happens if you're already on board and a hurricane strikes and the cruise is truncated because of that?
(2) Or what if your plane takes off a day late and you have to catch up to the ship? How would you do that? Swim?

Anyone know?
