We just booked the a Superior Ocean View Stateroom on Voyager of the Seas. It says the room has 2 twin beds which convert to a double plus a sofa bed. The room we chose also sates that it has a third pullman bed available which fully recesses into the ceiling. Has anyone had experience with any of these rooms on these ships? We are a family of 4, and I want to make sure the kids will get there own beds. I got conflicting reports from the travel agent.
Thanks

Hi Mary,
I do not understand. You do have 4 beds. Two twins that can be pushed together these two beds sleep two. You have a sofa that converts into a sofa bed for one - that makes three beds. You have a bed that pulls down out of the ceiling (this is like a bunk bed) that makes four beds.
Who's report is the travel agent conflicting with?
Paul
What I quoted above was what I understood, from the RCCL brochure. Our travel agent spoke to RCCL and they stated that the pullman was a misprint. That there were no upper berths in the D7/D6/D8 catagories. So in that case, the kids would have to share the sofa bed- not the best situation.Or my husband & I would be sleeping on a sofa bed for the week, which is probably too small for 2 adults. I'm hoping the RCCL brochure is correct, and there is an extra pullman in the room- so the kids come be separated. That would then by, my husband and I in the converted twin, one kid on the sofa bed and one in the upper pullman. I was wanting to know if any one had stayed in this type of room and could confirm one way or the other, that there is an extra pullman bed in addition to the two twin beds and sofa bed.
Oh dear. You do have a dilemma.
Superior Ocean View Staterooms do not have a pullman bed in any cabin.
See if you can convince RCCL to get you a rollaway even though they do say no to rollaways. The cabin is 188 sq. ft. and should fit a rollaway even though tight.
A single convertible sofa does not pull out into a bed. The sofa is just made up into a bed. If your children are toddlers they should fit easily but not two full sized passengers.
I have seen passengers that do not wish to sleep up near the ceiling bring a sleeping bag.

Paul: Do you know for a fact that the D7 class doesn't have a third pullman? We have booked cabin 7650 which has an "*" on it, on the deck plan. If you refer to the reference- it does state "third pullman available". If not is it possible to request a rollaway once on board, if we have been mislead?
Thanks
Hi Mary,
Thanks for the info on the cabin. Best to notify Celebrity on this one. I am in the twilight zone.
I checked my 2002 -2003 Caribbean Brochure. I also checked two travel agent manuals and all show just a triangle (sofa bed) for cabin #7650.
I know that RCCL does not as a rule have rollaways since their cabins tend to be smaller than other lines.
Since the Voyager has larger cabins than the older ships maybe, just maybe, they do have rollaways.
The hotel manager should be faxed by your travel agent an inquiry and demand a response since as you say there must be a misprint. Good to make a copy of your deck plan and include that.
This is an expensive cruise for you and RCCL must make proper restitution i.e. another stateroom at no additional charge.
Paul
Hi Mary,
I just checked the 2002 CLIA Cruise Manual and lo and behold there is a "*" printed for your cabin.
So in addition to the hotel manager the Customer Service Department should be faxed the info by your travel agent. I would not put up with the problems of a rollaway when you have been promised a third berth (pullman upper). Tell them (before they offer) a rollaway is not acceptable.
You booked a Superior Cabin and you want superior accomodations.
Good luck,
Paul
