My husband and I are in our mid-20s and are having a hard time choosing a cruise line. I'm not finding too many reviews from younger couples. We like to drink, but nothing excessive. I've somewhat narrowed it down to Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. Anybody have any input? Thanks! P.S. We're looking to cruise eastern Caribbean in October (unfortunately Celebrity doesn't offer anything, otherwise I'd choose them!).

When you book for Eastern Caribbean in October you run risk of having ports/itinerary changed because of hurricanes. Just keep that in mind - unless storm hits departure port, cancellations are unusual - you just might go someplace other than you were expecting.

(I know I did not answer your question, but since you are 1st time cruisers, it is something you may not have thought of)

Any new large Carnival ship will be the best (and cheapest) for you. RC and Princess are good too. Just stay away from Celebrity: it is too formal and sedate for your age.

What else do you enjoy? Dancing. gym, shows? October may be hurricane time, but it's blissfully void of teenagers.We've cruised several times in October and loved it. The newer the ship, the better the amenities. The larger ships (mariner, Voyager, etc) will have more entertainment options and more state of art technology in the gym and in the theatres, generally. I prefer RCCL- my Carnival cruises were both a bit disappointing. Not great service. Princess was nice, wasn't my favorite though. You might want to visit www.cruisecritic and ask a few questions there. ps...the short cruises usually aren't stellar experiences

Agree with Linda that October is a good time to cruise in general.

I would advise you check out the large ships of RCI, either Voyager or Freedom class. Lots to do, casual onboard atmosphere and will be good for your age group.

You can go on any boat, our favorite is carnival triumph, conquest and so on, just make sure if you get a room that below or above you is NOT a kariokie bar. You will be up all night like it or not. Go ahead and get a room with a balcony you will love it. The cruises out of New Orleans is where I go from, but if you want to go down in the virgin islands then you may have to go out of Miami, but N.O. is good for short trips. I am going on the fantasy in a couple of months just a four nighter. Just make sure on your room. Have Fun!! Also, you can order as many entries as you like at dinner, especially lobster night. Have Fun!!

My wife and I (late 20's/early 30's) have sailed on both CCL and recently RCC. Our last cruise was in Sept. 06 (honeymoon). We were on the Mariner of the Seas (very beautiful ship, lots to do, loved the ports). Balcony stateroom was a very nice touch.

We have also sailed on the CLL Sensation, this was very enjoyable as well, out of New Orleans (pre-Katrina).

RCC has the "Solarium" adults only, resonable level of music, bar, pool, 2 large hottubs-this made this cruise GREAT. If you were sailing at a high peak time for kids (and you don't have any) I'd go witht he Voyager classs of ships of RCC.

That being said, we are planing on CLL Liberty 6-d out of Ft. Lauderdale this Fall/early winter...we cannot wait to try out a new Carnival Boat.

If you are going at a high peak time for kids, and don't have any, and do not want to be stampeded by them for the duration, I would avoid any of the large RCI ships, period.
