My fiance and I are looking at Young Island for our Honeymoon in August. I was hoping others with experience could give us their recommendations about the place, as well as what types of excursions they might recommend. Specifically if anyone has done the 2 day Sail Away, wondering if that is worth the time.
Thanks

We were there this past April. The resort is very nice. The cottages were large with lovely views. The food is good, service can be quite slow sometimes, but for a honeymoon you may enjoy that. The beach is nice, the water isn't true caribbean blue and tranquil. That is the only drawback I can think of.
We didn't do a sail away. We did take one of the sailaway boats to Bequia one day. The water got quite choppy on the way back!
On Young Island we visited Black Point Tunnel and the black sand beach there. We have promised ourselves that we will return there and spend several hours next time.
We also went out to the Salt Ponds at Owia. We didn't snorkle there but another couple told us the snorkling was great there. It was a beautiful spot! The drive there was quite long. We stopped at Ferdi's Footprint(a lovely find!) for lunch. You could bring a picnic if you choose.
We went to both of the gardens. Montreal Gardens is a private garden. The Botanical Gardens were fun. Be sure to get a guide there-well worth the few bucks. They turn a park into a fun hour or so.
Kingstown was interesting to walk through on a market day. The people were all very nice. We felt quite safe roaming around with our children.
We booked our day long trip with Norris at gotalife@caribsurf.com I recommend him. For short trip the office at Young Island can arrange a taxi for you.
One thing we didn't do because we had small kids along was the Volcano climb. You may want to look into that. It is on our list of new things to try next trip, along with a boat trip to Walliabalou(sp?) Bay.
Have a great time!!
I've never been there, but you should check out the following websites for lengthy commentary and great photographs by fellow travelers. Each has stayed at Young Island (and other resorts too) and found it to be wonderful:
