Am looking for a long stay all-inclusive hotel on the beach. Planning on staying from 4 to 8 weeks commencing early January 2004. Does anyone know of Travel Companies offering long stays? I know that Hola Sun and Alba Tours do...any others? Of the ones I've seen I picked (Sol Melia) Tryp Cayo Coco and (Sol Melia) Sol Cayo Guillermo. Which one is better? Any additional info. on long stays and these hotels would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Murray:
Just some thoughts and suggestions. First off I wouldn't even try the major tour companies as they book 1 or 2 week tours and I am not sure how flexible they can be. Next I wonder whether you really want to go the All-Inclusive route. Do you really want to eat at one hotel's restaurants for 4 to 8 weeks continuous? Perhaps some sort of modified plan would give you the flexability to explore local cuisine as well. So here's some thoughts.
Horizontes Hotels offers a program called "Flexi Fly and Drive" whereby you pay fully in Canadian dollars before you go for your hotel and also a rental car. But the nice thing is that this is good at ANY Horizontes property in Cuba. All Inclusive. You simply tell them at the front desk how long you want to stay at one hotel, and when you decide to travel onwards, you book into any other Horizontes hotel. And this can all be done from any of the chains hotels. So in 4 to 8 weeks, you could very easily stay a week or so in one area, take a nice days drive and try somewhere else. A great way to see the country, experience many different hotels and beaches and yet still have the advantages of All inclusive. It's just my thought anyway.
Here are some contacts if you want to explore the possibilities.

Hi Murry, I was going to suggest Alba, but I believe that I have booked clients with World of Vacations to Cuba, because Alba doesn't fly from Atlantic, so we had to request with one of our tour operators.
I have seen the Tryp, it is nice, very large. I tend to sell it to younger people. I have some laid back older people who enjoy it as well, but when I toured it, there seemed to be a lot of 20 somethings there. Also I like to tell people, as the hotel is the oldest in the area, it is starting to show its age.
I didn't get to see the Sol Club but I have heard it is nice.
