Which Villa of these? Please Help!

We are two couples planning a last minute trip to St. John for the beginning of March. As you can imagine, pickings are slim. We have confirmed availability at the following:

Meridian (Choc. Hole)
Villa Capiz (Great Cruz Bay)
SeaScape
Hummingbird Hill
Stone House

Does anyone have any negative or positive thoughts to share on any of the above? Many thanks in advance for your reply.

Kolson,

I would avoid Villa Capiz(probably the nicest of all) & Hummingbird Hill because Gift Hill Road is a nightmare. It's in terrible condition (last seen in late 2007) and if you haven't been to St. John before the roads can be a little intimidating. Meridian & Stone House sit low near the water and I don't think you would get much of a breeze & withouot A/C you might need it to sleep. Having said that I like Sea Scape - A/C in bedrooms and might catch those great breezes.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed in the Stone House in May. While our nights were fine, we were very hot during the day without A/C. But, who cares--go to the beach! Otherwise it was a very nice house; clean with great views and an open air main room.

Have fun

gee, guess we all have different opinions on what "nightmare" means. imo , gift hill isn't that bad...traveled it many times this past fall and don't recall terrible conditions. then, again, i'm from RI/USA and we don't have the best paved roads in the country !! i wouldn't let the road keep you from renting a villa that is easy ride to cruz bay !

Tess53, it sounds like you were there after us (Aug./Sept. 2007) and they must have fixed the pot holes that were in the road. There were two huge holes in the road & we saw a car in one that must have had it's axle broken because of it. At night with no lights on the road those pot holes could be really bad. If those problems were fixed then I would say Villa Capiz because it is an easy drive to Cruz Bay from there.
